Somewhere I Haven't Been

Broken Trust

Leaving on an impulse for a city never seen, certain you would recognise a face you have never met. About a longing that has not found its address yet.

Out of nowhere, I had to leave, Like the wind put hands on me. Packed my fears in an old black bag, Bought a ticket, never looked back.

There was a city calling low, A place my heart already knew. I didn’t know your face at all, But I was sure I’d recognize you.

Somewhere I haven’t been, You were waiting in the streets. Somewhere between the lights, You were walking back to me.

I searched every avenue, Every station, every room. But love was just a ghost in shoes, And I never found you.

I followed laughter down the road, Chased reflections in the cold. Every stranger looked like fate, Every wrong turn felt too late.

I wrote your name on hotel glass, Though I didn’t know it yet. I asked the night to bring you close, But the night had nothing left.

The traffic sang, the streetlights cried, I kept believing every lie. Just one more block, just one more sign, Just one more chance to make you mine.

Somewhere I haven’t been, You were waiting in the streets. Somewhere between the lights, You were walking back to me.

I searched every avenue, Every station, every room. But love was just a ghost in shoes, And I never found you.

Then the sunrise cracked the sky, And the city lost its sound. I was reaching for your face, But there was no one around.

The station faded into walls, The rain became my room. I opened up my tired eyes, And lost the dream of you.

Somewhere I haven’t been, Maybe you still wait for me. Or maybe you were only made Of sleep and memory.
